**Everyone has the potential to lead at varying levels ? some are more aware of it than others. Some acquire knowledge and understanding necessary for the demonstration (via example) of both, intrinsic and extrinsic qualities pertaining to good leadership, whilst others (perhaps highly intellectual-IQ), through lack of wisdom tend to ignore the intrinsic element essential to both, good leadership and followership.
In other words an authentic leader must be able and desire to communicate at ALL levels and imagine him/herself in the place of those whom he/she is leading ? which in effect means that a leader must be prepared to partake as a follower when the situation arises. People in general are more motivated through example rather than words. Hence, positive actions supported by relevant dialog will motivate people achieve both individual and collective goals on behalf of business enterprises and society in general. |
